Mortal Shell II weapons and upgrades

Steam identifies extensive weapon upgrades as a major part of Mortal Shell II. Its official description specifically frames those choices around both melee and ranged weapons, so a weapon plan is part of character progression rather than a cosmetic choice.

This guide separates that confirmed foundation from the weapon names, stat values, damage types, materials, and upgrade paths that still need a versioned in-game or official source.

What is officially confirmed

The public Steam description says that Mortal Shell II includes:

  • extensive weapon upgrades;
  • strategic choices around upgrading melee and ranged weapons;
  • combat unrestricted by a stamina bar; and
  • tactics that can shatter enemy posture and open critical strikes.

That confirms weapon progression and a posture-oriented combat loop. It does not, by itself, publish a complete equipment database or a rule that a given weapon is available to every Shell.

A sensible first-playthrough upgrade approach

Until upgrade costs and effects are verified for the current build, use a low-risk approach:

  1. Try the melee and ranged options you encounter before committing scarce resources.
  2. Choose upgrades that support the tactics you actually use—pressure, spacing, posture breaks, or ranged follow-up.
  3. Re-check the displayed in-game cost and result before confirming an upgrade; patches can change values.
  4. Record the weapon name, effect, location, and game version if you want to help document the database.

For the official combat context behind posture breaks, read New Player Guide. For exploration’s role in finding weaponry and upgrades, see Map and Locations.

Weapon list and upgrade tables: current status

The Steam store page does not provide a full named weapon list, numerical stats, elemental weaknesses, damage-type interactions, material names, socket rules, or per-Shell restrictions. We therefore do not label any of those as confirmed on this page.

A complete table will be useful only when each row can state its source and game version. Until then, this page is a reliable overview of the official weapon-upgrade premise—not an invented list of every weapon.
