Mortal Shell II Enemies: Enemy Types and Behaviors

Mortal Shell II enemies guide: standard enemy types, the kamikaze skeletons, cultists and how posture changes fights.

Mortal Shell II Enemies

The sequel populates its world with grim, deliberate threats built for the posture combat system. The community wiki is compiling a full bestiary; here’s what coverage confirms so far.

Confirmed enemy behavior

Kamikaze skeletons

Exploding skeletons — “Kamikazes” — that appear around the Gloombound Ritualist boss fight. They rush the player and explode; keep them at range or time your strikes so their death doesn’t stagger you into the boss’s follow-up.

Gloom ritualists

Staff-wielding cultists that conjure explosive projectiles and awaken the kamikaze skeletons. Interrupt their conjuring animations with heavy attacks.

Standard soldiers and beasts

The tutorial and Fainweald feature standard melee enemies (soldiers, brutes and wildlife) built to teach hardening, parrying and posture breaking.

General combat notes

  • Posture breaks on normal enemies lead to instant-finisher executions
  • Groups are dangerous — the game’s camera/combat is tuned for 1v1 and 1v2
  • Sidearms shine against kamikaze-type enemies: kill them before they close the gap

Full bestiary

A complete enemy table (names, HP, resistances, locations) will be published on this page shortly after launch on August 20, 2026.
