Mortal Shell II Controls (PC)
The developer keeps the original’s methodical two-button combat philosophy — light attack, heavy attack and hardening are the core of every fight. Exact key bindings are confirmed at launch; the layout below reflects the original game’s scheme and official previews.
Default scheme (original layout, subject to change)
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Light Attack | Left Mouse Button |
| Heavy Attack | Right Mouse Button |
| Harden (begin attack then hold) | Left / Right Mouse hold |
| Parry / Block | Middle Mouse or Shift |
| Dodge / Sprint | Space (tap / hold) |
| Interaction / Possess | E |
| Use Sidearm | Q |
| Shell Ability | F |
| Heal / Item | R |
| Lock On | Tab |
| Inventory | I |
| Map | M |
| Pause / Menu | Esc |
What’s different from Mortal Shell 1
- No stamina bar means sprint and dodge are less restricted
- Sidearm key is a new bind — the original had no ranged weapons
- Posture-breaking is tied to heavy attacks, so heavy attack matters more
Controller support
Controller layouts (Xbox / DualSense) are expected at launch. We’ll publish the full controller table on this page after release.
:::note Bindings in the final build may differ from this preview. We’ll update to the exact official layout within hours of launch (August 20, 2026). :::
