Adaptive Difficulty: official September 5 update
The official update describes an optional, experimental setting under Game → Game Settings → Adaptive Difficulty. It is off by default, adjusts enemy strength in both directions and can be toggled at any time. Night Mode does not receive the easing effect.
Choosing settings for your session
This is practical setup advice, not a tested optimal configuration:
- Check that your installed version includes the setting before looking for it.
- Read its in-game explanation and change one option at a time.
- Try the result in a familiar encounter before deciding whether to keep it.
- Recheck your choices after an update rather than assuming all platforms received identical changes together.
Accessibility checks
The PS5 listing identifies subtitles for the main story and key characters. That is not a guarantee that every incidental voice line is captioned. For your own needs, inspect subtitle presentation, readability, audio controls and bindings in the current platform version before relying on a generic feature list.
Earlier execution-health combinations, a named Eredrim defensive build and detailed Sunless Run advice were not supported by the cited evidence and have been removed. See Controls for the current input-reference limits.
